Q&A

Q:  What’s your favorite movie or song with “blue” in the title?

A:  I don’t actually have a favorite movie or song with blue in the title but I do have a play that I love -- Danny and the Deep Blue Sea by John Patrick Shanley.  I have read it too many times to count.

Q:  Do you have a favorite blue possession?

A:  I do.  I have a blue and cream wood bench that sits in my bedroom near the end of my bed.  It makes me smile when I look at it.

Q:  Can you share a tip on getting out of a blue mood?

A:  I have a few things that I have learned over time that work for me.  Getting outside and going for a hike or a walk works wonders, or getting in a good intense workout.  I also love to throw on some music and clean.  It’s funny but cleaning my home usually pops me out of a blue state pretty quickly.

Q:  Pick the phrase that you relate to most:

   a) crystal blue persuasion
   b) into the wild blue yonder
   c) only cowboys get the blues
   d) blue plate special
   e) between the devil and the deep blue sea

A:  b) I relate to Into the Wild Blue Yonder as a phrase.  Mostly because I love shooting blue skies out in the middle of nature and that’s what the phrase makes me think about.

Q:  What or who inspires your work the most?

A:  Everyday things and architecture/lines inspire me the most.  I really like to shoot places that tend to get ignored.  Places or things that are around everyday, all day.  People stop looking at them, stop seeing their surroundings.  I enjoy finding beauty in the mundane.

Q:  Favorite shade of blue?

A:  Blue is actually one of my favorite colors and I like so many variations of it.  Cerulean would probably be my top choice of blue.
